IRFF’s work has covered many areas of social concern. Major projects, though, have emphasized the areas of (a) healthcare and nutrition, (b) education – including general literacy, education, vocational and agricultural education, and (c) immediate relief for catastrophic events. IRFF has also sponsored seminars, public information programs and training sessions to educate the public about humanitarian needs, the reality of relief work worldwide, and how to develop a service-minded program in one’s own community.

Educational Programs

To provide education for disadvantaged and illiterate children suffering from poverty is to give them the tools to build a productive, self-reliant life. Education is a long-term effort, an unconditional service that will enable people to contribute meaningfully to the progress of their community. IRFF has supported and initiated schools and projects in different Asian countries as well as different parts of the world through continental chapters.

Medical Programs

IRFF medical teams are mobilized to work in emergency situations, to alleviate immediate suffering and to lay a foundation of preventive health education. Although IRFF did work in the refugee camps and famine areas that attracted media major attention, IRFF’s main focus is on improving the standard of health care through educating local groups on nutrition, hygiene and sanitation. These low-profile activities have a great impact in improving health conditions of the people year after year.

Volunteers and Youth Camps

The hope for a peaceful world can be realized if humanity can overcome conflicts between religions, race and cultures. The Religious Youth Service (RYS)  addresses these problems in a unique and creative way. IRFF has been cooperating with the RYS since 1986, by sponsoring and co-participating in 35 of the 100 international, local and regional projects done by the RYS. On this foundation, IRFF has started to organize Youth Volunteer Camps under the theme of ” The Culture of Peace ” and in this field, IRFF Europe start in 2005 a partnership with Service For Peace . Most recently IRFF initiated the “Family and Service Project” on the theme “Culture of Peace through a Culture of Heart”. Our service projects stress the importance of cooperative efforts for sustained long-term development. We seek to stimulate individuals and communities by offering a vision of public welfare arising from self-reliance and ethical action.

Education Program

Ignorance is one of the most important reasons of poverty. Therefore educational program all kinds of fields are essential. IRFF has been creating several primary schools and technical Schools, nurseries etc. and providing literary programs, basic education ,vocational training, and agricultural program.

IRFF is also supporting many schools and educational institutions by providing, educational materials, clothes and repairing school facilities etc.

Service and volunteer program

A distinguishing point of IRFF today is its service learning and volunteer programs. Organizing adolescents, young adults and adults, IRFF has developed numerous projects through which volunteers can give of themselves to help others. Through an international learning component, the volunteers also develop their own character. They learn skills and gain an awareness of what they can offer to genuinely serve others.

IRFF also believes quite strongly in volunteer youth service programs. While,IRFF was one of the founding parents of the Religious Youth Service(RYS),

it continues this tradition by arranging service projects for teenagers and young adults. During the summer of 1995,IRFF coordinated the placement of over 140 America university students as volunteers for more than 30 volunteer agencies in six majo U.S. cities for 6 weeks volunteer.

In 1996,IRFF organized its first teenager international summer service program by Taking 21 teenagers to Haiti .

Capacity Developing Program

IRFF is a catalyst for social change and progress, IRFF projects stress the importance of cooperative efforts for sustained long-term development. IRFF seeks to stimulate individuals and communities by offering a vision of public welfare arising from self- reliance and ethical action.

IRFF supports short and long term programs that encourage the active participation of the intended beneficiaries, who are asked to invest their own time, erergy, and resources for the achievement of the purpose.

IRFF also seeks to create model programs that are nurtured by the combined efforts of all sectors of the local community and are capable of sustaining themselves with a minimum of external assistance.

IRFF has focused on long-term developmental projects in the areas of ,literacy, vocational and agricultural education and conflict resolution.

IRFFhas also sponsored seminars and public information programs to educate the public about humanitarian needs, the challenge of relief work worlfwide, and the Meaning of true humanitarianism .

Relief Activities

Many of IRFF’s relief programs seek to provide rapid shipments of valuable supplies to alleviate the suffering and hardship of people left helpless by tragic circumstances such as war, natural disasters, and famine.

IRFF has brought hope and relief to millions of people across all national, racial, and religious boundaries.

IRFF has been able to use the Fish Protein Concentrate(FPC) in several locations Worldwide. The first use was in a Rwandan refugee camp in the fall of 1994.

In April of 1995, IRFF supported a special Religious Youth Service project in Croatia by providing over 7 tons of the Fish Protein Concentrate which was then sent to varazdin in Croatia which then distributed it to help feed over 1500 people daily over 5 month period. Since these initial sites, the Fish Concentrate has been used in Albania , Afghanaistan , Russia , and Ghana .

Development Assistance

Severe famine and hunger-related problems worldwide are the primary cause of death and poor health among children in the developing nations. External assistance in the form of food aid will never solve the recurring cycle of poverty. IRFF fosters long-term development through sustainable efforts in agricultural education. These training programs instruct young persons in appropriate technologies and methods that fit the local situation and resources.
